Scottish Highlands Photography Workshop

Connect to the remote beauty of the Scottish Highlands and re-spark your creativity in this five-day, six-night Scottish Highlands Photography workshop. Each day, you’ll head off for a different destination, allowing you time to immerse. You will be guided by Margaret whose aim it is to gently teach and help you understand your own photography. Margaret has lived in Drumnadrochit for many years and has an in-depth knowledge of the area.

Scottish Highlands Photography Workshop

Our base for the Scottish Highlands Photography workshop is Drumnadrochit. Ideal for accessing many areas in the Highlands that come into their own at this time of year. Drumnadrochit is Margaret’s home, so she knows the area and all its’ hidden gems of locations and is excited to share them with you!

Some of the beautiful and quiet areas we would visit include the glens surrounding Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness, Loch Tarff, and if time allows, the Cairngorms. Exploring the quiet beauty of the glens, forests, lochs, and rivers of the area, we at many aspects of landscape photography. Based around slowing down in nature, I teach long exposures, creative photography, and photography as well as intimate landscapes.

Glen Affric

Glen Affric is a dense pinewood forest, thick with a mysterious air and photogenic opportunities, accompanied by the Loch Beinn a’Mheadhain. Described as the finest and most beautiful of all Scotland’s glens, a mystical mix of lochs, moorlands, and native pinewoods.

Glen Strathconnon

Glen Strathconnon is a glen brimmed with hills either side as the Strathconnon river snakes its way down the roadside. Views down the Loch, forests, rivers, and a real sense of remoteness.

Loch Ness

Loch Ness is fantastic for landscape photography. From the famous Urquhart Castle to its’ many lochside spots. From Invermoriston Bridge, the Pier at Dores, Fort Augustus with its views right down the Loch to the mighty Falls of Foyers.
